Ottumwa -- A pair of second-half goals by sophomore Richard Rugabisha were the only tallies on the day as the Indian Hills men's soccer team lost to Iowa Lakes 7-2 at the IHCC field on Saturday.
The Lakers opened up a 6-0 halftime lead against the Warriors in beating IHCC for the second time this season.
Iowa Lakes scored three times in the match's first 10 minutes and Mohammad Awadallah added two more goals before halftime.
The second half was scoreless as the IHCC defense stiffened. Rugabisha punched home his first goal in the 70th minute and added another around six minutes later to cut the deficit to 6-2, before ILCC added their final goal.
Sebastian Carrion assisted on Rugabisha's first score and Jonathan Silva had the assist on the second.
Goalkeeper Alex Alvarez had nine saves for the Warriors.
Indian Hills plays at Marshalltown on Tuesday and at Wentworth Military Academy on Saturday. They return home to face the Culver-Stockton JV at 1:00 on Sunday.
