Ottumwa -- The IHCC men's soccer team notched its first win of the season Sunday, beating Hesston College 4-1 on the IHCC field.

The Warriors got three second-half goals to snap a halftime deadlock and held Hesston scoreless over the final half of play to improve their season record to 1-3.

Richard Rugabisha netted the tie-breaking goal in the 52nd minute to put IHCC on top 2-1. Divin Habimana scored off a rebound later in the half and Rugabisha tallied his second goal, a header off a corner kick by Tom Johnson to cap the scoring.

Indian Hills didn't waste any time in getting on the scoreboard, getting a goal f rom Luiz Felipe in the sixth minute of the opening half. Jacob Maichel tied things up for Hesston just before halftime.

Hesston only managed six shots during the game as the Warriors put together a strong defensive effort.

IHCC will look to make it back-to-back wins when the Warriors travel to Mason City to battle NIACC on Tuesday.
