Neosho, Mo. -- A goal in the 10th minute by Joe Rice was all his team needed as Crowder edged Indian Hills 1-0 in a men's soccer match on Crowder's home pitch on Saturday.

The Warriors had eight shots, but couldn't get the ball past Crowder goalkeeper Logan Mattix.

Indian Hills also got a standout goalkeeping effort from Alex Alvarez who had eight saves and allowed just the early goal by Rice.

Despite the loss, IHCC coach Doug Seigle was pleased with his team's effort. "I thought we played really well defensively," Seigle said. "We played with the type of intensity we need to have to be successful as the year goes along."

The Warriors, still in search of their first win of the season, take on Hesston College on Sunday at the IHCC field.
