Ottumwa -- Jared Beauchamp has been tabbed to be the new head coach of the Indian Hills men's soccer team. Beauchamp, a Georgia native, comes to IHCC after four years on the coaching staff at Iowa Central CC in Fort Dodge.
Beauchamp is the fourth head men's coach at Indian Hills since the program's inception on the Ottumwa campus in 2007.
Beauchamp, who hails from Marietta, Georgia, played four years of collegiate soccer at Francis Marion University in Florence, S.C. A defenseman, he was a key part of a Patriots' squad that won both the Peach Belt Conference regular season and tournament titles in 2008, the first time that had been done in school history. Francis Marion also qualified for the NCAA Division II tournament in 2008 and was ranked in the top 20 in the nation that season.
While a student at Francis Marion, Beauchamp coached two seasons at South Florence HS and one year in the Florence Soccer Association. He graduated in 2011 with a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design.
From South Carolina, Beauchamp came to Iowa to begin his stint at Iowa Central where the Tritons won 43 games in his four seasons. That includes a 14-win season in 2012 when ICCC was ranked in the top 20 nationally, and a 13-win mark the next year. Iowa Central made it into the Region 11 semifinals every year that Beauchamp was on the staff there.
The new IHCC head coach currently holds a national "D" coaching license, an NSCAA Goalkeeping License and an NSCAA Youth License.
Indian Hills last fall played its third season on the school's on-campus field in Ottumwa. And Beauchamp said having a field on campus to practice and play on was one of the factors that interested him in the Indian Hills job.
