Ottumwa, IA – No. 12 Indian Hills Men's Basketball opened up the new year with a solid 103-79 victory over Dakota County Technical College (MN) at the Hellyer Center on Tuesday night. The Warriors improve to 15-2 overall on the year.
Six different players scored in double-figures as the Warriors picked up their sixth victory of at least 20 points or more on the year. The 103 points scored are the second-most on the season backed by at least five points from all nine players that saw action on Tuesday night. Indian Hills has now won three consecutive matchups.
Sophomore Mason Costello (Waukee, IA/Waukee) led the charge with a team-high 19 points while knocking down five three-point shots. Redshirt-freshman Javeyn Martin (Anderson, SC/T.L. Hanna) tallied a career-high 14 points on 4-7 shooting from beyond the arc while sophomore Chiang Ring (Minneapolis, MN/Murray State) posted 14 points on 6-8 shooting. KJ LaMonte (Davenport, IA/New Mexico Highlands) chipped in 13 points followed by 12 points for Ater Manyuon (Austin, MN/We Are United Prep) and 11 for Vladyslav Semerych (Horishni Plavni, Ukraine/Cherkassy).

The Warriors boasted a 51.3 percent clip from the field on the night, the fifth time in the last eight contests the squad has connected on at least half of its field goal attempts. Indian Hills committed just 10 turnovers on the night, the team's second-fewest this season. Offensively, the Warriors tied a season-high with 24 assists on the night.
Led by a team-high nine rebounds from Semerych, including eight on the offensive glass, Indian Hills outrebounded the Blue Knights 48-34. Ring and Manyuon aided in the paint with seven rebounds apiece.
Back-to-back three-point shots from Costello and Manyuon opened up the scoring for the Warriors in the early goings of the first half. All square at 21 a side, the Warriors rattled off 21 of the next 24 points to pull away, taking a 46-32 advantage into halftime.
The Warriors continued to hold the upperhand in the second half thanks in large part to a strong shooting performance from three-point range. Indian Hills went 9-13 from behind the arc over the final 20 minutes, including a combined 6-8 from Costello and Martin. Semerych scored six of the final eight points of the game for the Warriors to close out the victory.
