A pair of former Indian Hills Men's Basketball standouts took home professional championships over the weekend. Former Warriors Ivan Aurrecoechea and Tre McCallum helped lead their respective teams to a pair of titles.
Competing on the international stage, Aurrecoechea helped lead Spain to the FIBA 3x3 World Cup Championship in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia on Sunday. Aurrecoechea put the exclamation point on the victory in the championship game as the former Warrior slammed home the game-winning dunk to give Spain the win over Switzerland. Spain outlasted the 20-team field to capture the nation's first-ever FIBA 3x3 World Cup.

In seven games at the tournament, Aurrecoechea produced the second-most points of any player in the tournament and led all players with 37 rebounds, including an 11 point, nine rebound effort in a Pool Play win over Lithuania.
Aurrecoechea starred for the Warriors from 2016-18 where the forward averaged a double-double (11.4 points, 10.4 rebounds) over his two-year career at Indian Hills. Aurrecoechea was a two-time National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-Region 11 First-Team selection after leading the Warriors to back-to-back trips to the national tournament. Aurrecoechea concluded his collegiate career at New Mexico State University where he earned All-WAC First-Team honors in 2020 before embarking on a professional career that includes stops in Iceland and his current team, Covirán Granada of the Liga ACB.
McCallum helped power Astros de Jalisco to the championship of the 2025 CIBACOPA of the Mexican Basketball League. McCallum and Astros de Jalisco outlasted Tijuana 90-77 Tuesday night to win the series 4-3.
McCallum starred for the Astros all season long, but put together a dominant run in the playoffs. In 17 postseason games, McCallum averaged 11.9 points and 5.3 rebounds per game, including nine consecutive games in double-figures.

McCallum helped power Indian Hills to 29 wins during the 2015-16 season, including the NJCAA Region 11 Championship to earn a bid to the 2016 NJCAA DI Men's Basketball Championship in Hutchinson, KS. In 32 games for the Warriors, McCallum averaged 11.8 points per game in 55.5 percent shooting from the floor and 40.8 percent from three-point range to earn NJCAA All-Region Second-Team honors.
Following his tenure with the Warriors, McCallum wrapped up his collegiate career at DePaul University before a launching a professional career that includes stops in the NBA's G League, Canada, Slovakia, Greece, and Mexico.
