FORMER WARRIOR JONES NAMED TO JERRY WEST TOP-10 LIST

Former Indian Hills Men's Basketball standout Curtis Jones, now a member of the Iowa State University Men's Basketball program, is among 10 players across the nation named as a candidate for the 2025 Jerry West Award, announced by the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.

The Jerry West Award, named after the NBA Hall of Famer and Los Angeles Laker great, is an annual award that honors the top shooting guard in NCAA Division I Basketball. Jones has helped power the Cyclones to an impressive season as Iowa State has been ranked as high as No. 2 in the nationall polls.

Jones has proven to be one of the top players in the country this year as the guard leads the Cyclones with 17.7 points per game while adding 4.6 rebounds per contest. Jones had a streak of 22-straight Big 12 regular season games where he scored in double figures earlier this season, the longest streak in the league in over five years and the 16th longest in Iowa State history. Jones scored a career-high 33 points at Arizona State on January 25 where he was named the Dickie V National Player of the Week.

Jones starred at Indian Hills during the 2020-21 season where he was named to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Men's Basketball All-Region 11 team after averaging 12.1 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per contest.

In March, the Top 10 list will be narrowed to just five, and in late March, the five finalists will be presented to West's family and the Hall of Fame's selection committees, where the winner will be selected. The Selection Committee for the Jerry West Award is composed of top men's college basketball personnel, including media members, head coaches, sports information directors, and Hall of Famers.

Previous winners of the Jerry West Award are RJ Davis, North Carolina (2024), Marcus Sasser, Houston (2023), Johnny Davis, Wisconsin (2022), Chris Duarte, Oregon (2021), Myles Powell, Seton Hall (2020), RJ Barrett, Duke (2019), Carsen Edwards, Purdue (2018), Malik Monk, Kentucky (2017), Buddy Hield, Oklahoma (2016), and D'Angelo Russell, Ohio State (2015).
