Ottumwa, IA – Freshman Zevin Gadson (Akron, OH/Buchtel) of the No. 7 nationally ranked Indian Hills Men's Basketball squad has been named this week's Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Men's Basketball Player of the Week, announced by the conference office Tuesday.
Gadson powered the Warriors with a big weekend in Twin Falls, ID as Indian Hills took down undefeated Colorado Northwestern Community College and No. 16 College of Southern Idaho at the CSI Invite. In three games last week, Gadson averaged 14.7 points per game while shooting 53.6 percent from the floor, 56.3 percent from three, and 83.3 percent from the free throw line.
Gadson opened the weekend against Colorado Northwestern by lighting up the scoreboard from three-point range. The freshman tallied 18 points on the night, connecting on six three-point shots in just 10 attempts. Gadson added three assists, two steals, and a block in the 79-63 win.
Gadson upped his effort on Saturday night against CSI with a season-best 20 points on 7-11 shooting, including two more three-point shots. Gadson tallied 15 points in the second half alone to help push the Warriors past the nationally ranked Golden Eagles.
On the year, Gadson is averaging 10.3 points per game while shooting 50.0 perent from beyond the three-point line.
The Warriors are back in action Wednesday night for the first of three games in a four-day span in Illinois. Indian Hills takes on Wabash Valley College (IL) before heading to John A. Logan College (IL) for the JALC Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
