NJCAA DI MEN'S BASKETBALL RANKINGS - WEEK 3
Ottumwa, IA – Following its largest win of the year before the holiday break, the Indian Hills Men's Basketball team has climbed two spots in the latest national rankings, jumping to No. 11 in this week's National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Men's Basketball poll, announced Monday afternoon.
The Warriors collected 200 points from the NJCAA DI Men's Basketball Committee to jump two spots from last week's spot at No. 13. The Warriors, 5-2 on the year, have suffered losses to No. 1 nationally ranked Northwest Florida State College and No. 4 Vincennes University (IN).
Indian Hills is coming off a 96-71 victory over Kansas City Kansas Community College on November 21, the team's largest margin of victory through the team's first seven contests. The win over the Blue Devils kicked off a nine-game homestand at the Hellyer Center for the Warriors.
Sophomore Trevion LaBeaux (Ames, IA/Waterloo) tallied his fourth double-double of the year against Kansas City Kansas and is now averaging team-high marks of 16.4 points and 11.1 rebounds per contest this year. Amarion Nimmers (Rock Island, IL/Iowa) added 14 points in the win as five individuals reached double-figures.
Indian Hills will now gear up for a home date against No. 24 nationally ranked Northern Oklahoma College – Tonkawa at 7:00 PM Tuesday night. The Mavericks climbed one spot to No. 24 in the national polls this week. The Warriors will be taking on their fourth top-25 nationally ranked team this year.
