WARRIORS EARN NO. 7 SEED AT HUTCH

Ottumwa, IA – Following the team's 17th District championship in program history, the Indian Hills Men's Basketball squad will head to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Men's Basketball Championship in Hutchinson, KS as the No. 7 overall seed. The Warriors receive a first-round bye and will open up play Tuesday, March 15 at 8:30 PM CDT.

The Warriors learned of their No. 7 seed Sunday night on the NJCAA DI Men's Basketball selection show. With action opening up at the national tournament on Monday, March 14, the top-8 teams in the field receive a bye to the second day of competition, meaning the Warriors will await to see their opponent. Indian Hills will play the winner of No. 10 seed Northwest Florida State and No. 23 Trinidad State (CO) who will square off at 4:30 PM CDT on Monday.

Salt Lake Community College (UT) received the top overall seed, a team that Indian Hills lost by just three points at the Fiesta Bowl Shootout in Mesa, AZ on Dec. 28. In total, the Warriors faced four national tournament qualifiers in the regular season, going 4-1 in those matchups. Along with the lone defeat to Salt Lake, the Warriors defeated John A. Logan College (IL), the No. 4 seed, the No. 11 seed Triton College (IL) twice, and Moberly Area College (MO), the No. 16 seed. Indian Hills also matched up with No. 5 seed Chipola in the preseason All-American Jamboree in October.

Four of those five teams appear on the opposite side of the bracket from Indian Hills while Triton sits in the opposite quadrant on the right side of the bracket with the Warriors.

Indian Hills enters the tournament with a 27-5 overall record after winning both the NJCAA North Central District Championship and the NJCAA Region XI title. The Warriors are currently riding a 13-game win streak, the longest active winning streak in the nation.
