Ottumwa, IA – The Indian Hills Men's Basketball squad held strong at No. 6 in the latest National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Men's Basketball rankings but took a big jump to No. 3 in this week's JUCO Media Poll.
The Warriors are coming off a 2-0 week that saw a win over North Central Missouri College and a thrilling victory over then-No. 10 Triton College, 87-84 at the Hellyer Center on Saturday night. The pair of wins extended the Warriors' winning streak to 11 games and upped the team's overall record to 25-5 close out the regular season.
The win over Triton was the Warriors' third top-10 victory of the season, and fifth victory over a top-25 team on the year. Indian Hills defeated Triton twice on the season, both times by three points as the Trojans check in at No. 10 in the NJCAA poll and No. 14 in the JUCO Media Poll.
Indian Hills sits behind top-ranked Salt Lake Community College (UT) and No. 2 Indian River College (FL) in the JUCO Media Poll. The two teams headline the NJCAA poll followed by Kilgore College (TX), Dodge City Community College (KS), and John A. Logan College (IL).
The Warriors' earned 322 points in the latest NJCAA poll, the most points from the voting committee the Warriors have earned this season.
Indian Hills will now enter postseason play as the Warriors host the NJCAA Region XI Championship game at 7:00 PM Saturday, Feb. 26 at the Hellyer Center. The game will serve as part of Coaches vs. Cancer Night.
