Iowa Falls, Iowa -- Ellsworth got a go-ahead three-run double by Greg Anderberg in the bottom of the 7th and went on to defeat Indian Hills, 8-7, in a non-conference contest on Tuesday. Anderberg's hit allowed ECC to come back from a 6-5 deficit, after the Panthers had jumped on IHCC for a five-run 2nd inning to take a quick 5-0 lead.
The Falcons comeback from that 5-0 hole started with a solo homer by Joshmar Doran. Doran's single in the 8th drove in a run and brought Indian Hills to within a run, but they couldn't get the equalizer. The freshman was also in the middle of two other run-scoring innings for the Falcons.
Ryan Humeniuk singled home one run and Dillon Nelson knocked in two more with a single when the Falcons went on top, 6-5, in the top of the 6th. But the bullpen couldn't hold the lead and IHCC's record fell to 28-15 with the loss.
Indian Hills is slated to play a four-game conference series in Marshalltown this weekend.
