Falcons Blanked at SCC

West Burlington, Iowa -- Two days after posting a come-from-behind victory against Indian Hills in Centerville, Southeastern CC made a two-run 3rd inning stand up in a 2-0 blanking of the Falcons on Sunday.

The Falcons outhit the hosts 8-2, but only advanced a runner past 2nd base once in the game. They had a couple of hits in the 8th, but left the runners stranded and had a hit and a walk in the top of the 9th, but again couldn't dent the scoreboard.

SCC's Adonis Lao, whose two-run single was the game-winning hit on Friday, drove in the two Blackhawks' runs in this game. Lao then was handed the two-run lead in a relief role in the 9th and set down IHCC to record a save.

Junior Ramirez was a tough-luck loser for Indian Hills, permitting only two hits and two runs, one earned, in six innings of work. He didn't walk anyone and fanned three. Jacob Theissen followed with two scoreless innings of relief.

Jose Vargas had three hits and Ryan Shull two for the Falcons. All eight IHCC hits were singles.

Indian Hills returns home to take on Iowa Central on Tuesday.
