Ottumwa -- Three players from last year's Indian Hills baeball team were recognized by the National Junior College Athletic Association for their work in the classroom during the 2014-15 academic year. And the baseball squad made the NJCAA's list of Academic Teams of the Year for the 8th year in a row. The team grade point average of 3.24 was 14th best nationally of all NJCAA two-year schools that play baseball.
Falcons sophomores Kyle Keck, Ben Reznicek and Jake Lewis received individual student-athlete academic honors -- Keck and Reznicek cited for Superior Academic Achievement with a grade point average between 3.8 and 3.99, and Lewis for Exemplary Academic Achievement, given to those with GPAs between 3.6 and 3.79.
All three players were named to the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference All-Region teams. Keck was a second-team choice and Reznicek and Lewis received honorable mention recognition.
