Falcons Rout Hibbing

Centerville -- Indian Hills used a couple of double-digit run totals to polish off Hibbing CC, 12-2 and 10-0, at Pat Daugherty Field on Sunday. The wins gave the Falcons a 4-1 homestand over three days.

In Sunday's opener, IHCC set the tone with five runs in the 1st inning and scored at least once in each of the next four frames. Hiroki Yamaguchi was the only Falcon with more than one hit. Joel Fuentes and Mike Levar each drove in two runs and Fuentes scored four times from the two-hole in the lineup. Yamaguchi and Ben Reznicek had two runs scored apiece.

The Falcons used four pitchers -- Johno Rodriguez, Grant Gamble, Jesse Anderson and Jacob Dilks. The quartet allowed only four hits and two earned runs.

IHCC ended the second game early with a four-run 5th inning, after they had scored six in the 1st.

Trevor Kiminski was outstanding on the mound for the Falcons, firing a one-hit shutout with five Ks and no walks. He faced two batters over the minimum in his five-inning stint.

On offense, Ryan Shull, Jake Lewis and Grant Walker all had two hits. Walker and Joe Sullivan each scored two runs and Shull and Trent Herman had two-RBI games.
