Falcons Drop Two in Texas

Temple, Texas -- Playing their second doubleheader against Temple JC in as many days, Indian Hills lost a pair of games to the Leopards on Friday by scores of 14-0 and 8-3.

Temple opened the scoring in the first game with a two-run homer by Chase Goldwater and then tallied eight runs in the 3rd inning when they sent 13 men to the plate. All of the runs were charged with IHCC starter Michael Starcevich.

The hosts added four more runs in the 4th inning.

Indian Hills was limited to just three hits in the game. Kyle Keck doubled in the 1st, Mitch Langer singled in the 3rd, and Joel Fuentes had a single in the 5th.

The Falcons had a better offensive performance in game two, scoring single runs in the 2nd, 3rd and 7th innings.

Fuentes walked and scored on a double by Hiroki Yamaguchi in the 2nd, Grant Walker had the first of his two hits, a single, and came home on a single by Langer in the 3rd, and Walker's RBI single plated Joe Sullivan in the 7th.

The score was 2-2 going into the bottom of the 4th when Temple struck for five runs against IHCC reliever Bryce Collins. Collins was let down by his defense though as only one of the five runs was earned.

David Kroger got the final four outs for the Falcons and all four were Ks.

Indian Hills will open its home schedule with doubleheaders against Ridgewater College Mar. 13-14 at Pat Daugherty Field.
