Falcons Rebound for Big Win

Corsicana, Texas -- For the third straight time, the Indian Hills baseball team came back to win their second game of the day after dropping the first game. The latest show of resiliency by the Falcons came in a Monday doubleheader with Navarro CC when IHCC pounded out 17 hits in a 12-8 victory, after Navarro pushed across a run in the bottom of the 7th to win the opener, 7-6.

Indian Hills scored in five of the seven innings, including a four-run 3rd, in blitzing the Bulldogs the game two.

Mitch Langer led the offense with a 4-for-4 performance -- three singles and a triple -- and four RBIs. Junior Santos had two doubles and a single and scored four runs and Dario Polanco, Joel Booker, Jose Valdez and Mike Levar all had two-hit games. Polanco scored three times and Booker had a sacrifice fly in addition to his two singles.

The Falcons used three pitchers with Jose Marin getting the win in relief. He didn't allow a hit or run in 2 1/3 innings.

A two-out walk, a stolen base and a single by Navarro's Jovan Hernandez accounted for the winning run in the bottom of the 7th in the opening game.

Navarro scored six runs in the 2nd inning and then was held scoreless until the game-winner. Joelfi Arias was impressive in a relief role for the Falcons, not giving up a hit or run in four innings.

After trailing early, IHCC battled back from the 6-0 deficit to tie the score with four runs in the 5th. Santos singled in the first run, Booker had a two-run double and Langer tied the score with a sacrifice fly.

Caleb Ratzman doubled in a run in the 3rd and later scored on a wild pitch for the first two runs for the Falcons.

Booker had two hits and Kyle Keck scored two runs.

Indian Hills has a nine-inning game with McLennan CC scheduled for Tuesday.
