Ottumwa, IA – Indian Hills Community College Athletics and Ottumwa High School Athletics have announced the first-ever City of Bridges Classic, set for December 3 at the Hellyer Center on the Indian Hills campus.
The first of its kind event will feature three basketball games at the Hellyer Center as the Ottumwa Bulldogs will host its girls and boys varsity games vs. Fairfield High School followed by the Warriors' home matchup with Kankakee Community College (IL). Action gets underway at 10:00 AM with the Ottumwa girls varsity game followed by the Ottumwa boys at 12:00 PM. The Warriors will tip-off at 3:00 PM.

"This will be a truly special event for our community," stated Brett Monaghan, Indian Hills Vice President, Student Development & Operations and Athletic Director. "The opportunity for our programs to work together and provide an event like this is exciting for everyone involved. We look forward to hosting two great high school programs while seeing both the Indian Hills and Ottumwa fanbases supporting one another throughout a full day of basketball at the Hellyer Center."
The purchase of one ticket is good for all three contests throughout the day and will be $8.00 per person. The Indian Hills Culinary Club will serve lunch following the conclusion of the boys varsity contest and will be available for $8.00.
As part of the Ottumwa Schools Appreciation Month, all Ottumwa Community School District staff and students will receive free admission to Saturday's event as well as all home Indian Hills basketball contests throughout the month of December. Tickets can be picked up at the main office of each of the Ottumwa elementary, middle, and high schools. Staff and students can also show their school ID at the Indian Hills box office to receive free tickets.
