The Tom Arnold Net Center opened in 1997 to give the IHCC Main Campus another recreational facility and athletic venue, to go along with the Hellyer Student Life Center. The building bears the name of the famous actor, Tom Arnold, who helped fund the construction of the Net Center on the southeast corner of the campus.
In 2013, the building underwent a major facelift with the project completed in the fall. New locker rooms and coaches' offices have been added along with a weight room and other amenities. The exterior of the facility was also updated with a glass front added to the east side. Tom Arnold returned in March 2014 for the rededication of the building that bears his name.
Shortly after the building opened, the IHCC volleyball team began to play its home matches there. The rather intimate setting for volleyball, with chairs and a set of bleachers ringing the court, has provided a distinct homecourt advantage for the Warriors.
In recent years, the Net Center has also been the venue for the college's annual spring advisory committee dinner and has hosted many other large campus and community events.
