The Indian Hills Community College athletic department has recognized sophomore Craig Brand (Men’s Soccer) and freshman Macey Romanco (Sport's Shooting) as November’s student-athletes of the month. This accolade honors student-athletes who have demonstrated outstanding work in their respective sport and in the classroom.
Romanco, a freshman from Albia, Iowa has been a staple for the Indian Hills sport shooting team as the program enters its second year of existence. Head coach Jake Stalzer was impressed by Romanco's improvement throughout the fall. "In September and early October Macey was averaging 60-70% of her targets hit. By the second half of the fall season, she improved that average to 75-85% and was a top-five shooter for our team." Romanco is equally impressive outside of her sport as she currently holds a 3.8 GPA. Furthermore, Romanco is involved in several extra-curricular activities such as volunteering her time at the Junior Diabetes Research Foundation, St. Mary's Church and Grant Elementary Kindergarten. Romanco and her sports shooting teammates are on a four month hiatus before their spring season kicks off Saturday, April 7th at Iowa Central Community College.
