The Indian Hills Community College athletic department has recognized sophomore Craig Brand (Men’s Soccer) and freshman Macey Romanco (Sport's Shooting) as November’s student-athletes of the month. This accolade honors student-athletes who have demonstrated outstanding work in their respective sport and in the classroom.
Brand, a sophomore from Auchtermuchty, Scotland, was a force to be reckoned with this fall, leading the men’s soccer program to a historic 18-3 overall record, including the program’s first trip to the NJCAA D1 Men’s Soccer National Championship Tournament. The midfielder garnered Defensive Player of the Region XI Tournament, Region XI All-Tournament Team, and was one of three players to play every minute of the national tournament in Arizona. "He’s an outstanding leader and captain for our team," said head coach Jon Fridal." Coach Fridal was also quick to point out Brand’s success in the classroom, as he earned a 4.0 GPA for the fall 2017 term. Brand and his teammates finished the 2017 season ranked 6th in the nation in the final NJCAA D1 Men’s Soccer Poll.
