The Indian Hills Community College athletic department has recognized Julien Sale (golf) and Erin Kuba (softball) as April’s student-athletes of the month. This accolade honors student-athletes who have demonstrated outstanding work in their respective sport and in the classroom.
Sale, a sophomore from Saint Louis, Reunion Island (France), is currently the number one ranked player in NJCAA Division I golf. Sale recorded a first and fifth place finish in his two April tournaments, with four of his five rounds being under par. To top it off, he was the individual district champion, winning by five shots. “Julien is the type of student-athlete every coach looks for. He works as hard as he can every day and it’s paid off with great performances this month, His win at our district tournament is a direct result of his hard work,” commented head coach Nathan Weant. Sale is equally impressive in the classroom, graduating in May with a 4.0 GPA. Sale and his teammates will head to Lubbock, Texas May 15th for the NJCAA DI National Golf Tournament.
